PRACTICAL LAB 1
RABBIT
- DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING -
8.00-12.00 AM
Different imaging modalities are of paramount importance for diagnosis and treatment of dental disease in pet rabbits.
This 4-hour wet lab is aimed to review and discuss the three most important diagnostic imaging modalities: oral endoscopy, radiography, and CT scan.
Using cadavers, participants will simulate:
- stomatoscopy, with the use of a rigid endoscope
- taking extraoral radiographic views.
The procedure of viewing real CT studies from the clinical point of view will also be reviewed, and participants will have the opportunity to interpret radiographs and CT studies of real dental cases.
Visual tutorials (photo series, videos) displaying the normal and the pathologic patterns of these imaging modalities have been included within the on demand part of this course, but will also be reviewed and available for participants during the lab.
